This course is designed for individuals who would like to obtain a basic understanding of fraud. The course starts by reviewing the various fraud theories and discussing why people commit fraud. We will review various types of frauds, including occupational fraud, financial fraud, cyber fraud, tax frauds, identity theft, government frauds, frauds in not-for-profits, corruption, money laundering, and other frauds. We will review the various ways the criminals commit these frauds. We will review some of the legal and ethical implications involved. Participants will be introduced to the fraud triangle and the elements of fraud.
